
Coopers Rock Climbing Guides offers the following courses. Keep in mind, however, that these course descriptions are rough guidelines. Our instructors will discuss with you your experience and goals, and observe your techniques to customize your perfect climbing course!

Introductory Climbing: Learn the basics, focusing on equipment, movement skills, and belaying.
• No experience required.
Basic Anchoring: Learn the skills needed to set up solid top rope anchors for you and your friends! Learn about climbing equipment, knots, natural anchors (trees and boulders) and how to tie it all together.
• Some previous top rope climbing experience suggested.
Advanced Anchoring: Learn anchoring techniques utilizing artificial protection (bolts, nuts, hexes, cams, etc.).
• Previous experience building natural anchors suggested.
Introduction to Bouldering: Coopers Rock State Forest offers a lifetime of bouldering problems! Learn the basic techniques of spotting, crash pad safety and movement skills while you take a tour of classic Coopers Rock boulder problems.
• Some previous top rope climbing experience suggested.
Self Rescue: Climbing is dangerous, and accidents happen! Learn the skills needed to manage those unexpected incidents that may arise while climbing with your friends. This course can focus on top rope scenarios or situations that you might face while climbing multi-pitch routes.
• Previous anchoring experience suggested.
